Growth doesn’t always mean moving faster

  • 26 October 2026

Fabian van de Loosdrecht likes to keep up the pace. He thrives on new ideas, change and making things happen. During a leadership programme at Conclusion, he was challenged to stop looking ahead to the next challenge and instead take a closer look at himself: who are you, what drives you and what does that mean for the way you lead?

That reflection also changed the way he looks at work. A conversation with a colleague, for example, made him realise that commitment doesn’t always mean working long days or constantly operating at full speed. Sometimes, the real strength lies in staying focused, setting boundaries and making time to appreciate where you are now. That’s why Fabian decided to make 2026 his ‘year of consolidation’.

“It’s okay to be where I am right now. I still want more, and I’m definitely going to get there. ”

In Move on Up, Fabian speaks openly about his personal development, leadership and ambition. He talks about learning to manage his energy more effectively, making room for different ways of working and discovering that sometimes, slowing down is exactly what helps you move forward.
